Inspiration

When i bought the TR it was a little sad; from original white it appeared to have been yellow, orange and red. It had been in some scrape and had a dented doot and a fibreglass wing.

One thing i like is that it has 5.5 inch rims rather than the original 4.5 inch. These wider wheels are the type fitted to TR5s; they have the standard TR4 style hubcap fixings but have an extra inch of width which appears to be on the “outside” of the wheel, giving it a “deep” look. A 195/65R15 tyre fits well on this wheel, and the steering isnt too heavy. The car has some small suspension mods; stiffer springs & dampers…and rides a little lower. However there is a terrible bump-steer problem, due to the lower ride height at the front not being compensated-for with repositioning the steering rack. Result is that its best to loosen your grip on the wheel to let the car “ride” the bumps….
