The reason I chose a TR4A is hard
to remember, something to do with TR7s started my interest,
combined with a belief that TR6s were "rare" (which,
by comparison with the Ford Escort, they were). In any case
I started by looking in Exchange
and Mart and seeing a few cars at shows & on the street. HEL191D lived in Brighton, as I did, and AEV298A was a show car in a colour I liked.
In the back of the picture of AEV298A is Peter Longstaff-Tyrrel
who was leader of the South Downs TR Group,
he helped me find out about TRs and introduced me to the group there.
On member of teh group, Max,
had a white 4A and a "parts car"... little did I know
that one day it's crank would end up in my car.
