My
car is a 1967 TR4A originally delivered to Cardiff,
it's been in my ownership since 1989 and has been thru
10+ years of everyday use and 80,000+ miles. It's condition
today is a little sad, but it's only a matter of time
before it resumes it's daily driver function. Recently i
purchased another 4A as a parts car to help rebuild KKG404E, as it needs a cylinder head, gearbox casing, chassis, etc etc
In the mid 90's i
lived on the south coast of the UK and later moved to
Switzerland, it was a great experience to drive such a
car regularly thru french and swiss mountian roads, and
even though the car had a number of minor faults, very
few have ever left the car immobile... crank failure and
diff failure are among the very few... For a while i took
part in some car show events, partly as a way to get in
for free, but to be honest these events soon get boring...
Today
the TR is in a chicken shed in the UK, I am in Malaysia
and the "spare parts car" is in California,
USA. This looks like bad planning and it is. However
I am still hopefull that i may be bale to get me &
the cars in the same place at some point this decade
in order to make an new sportscar from the rust and
worn components..
